Customer Review: Perfect for Light-Skinned African Americans
As a light-skinned African American, I found it impossible to find a color match. I had tried Cover Girl, Loreal, Lancome, Vanity Fair, Mary Kay, and several others. I happened upon Stila by accident. I went into a BareMinerals store and there wasn’t anyone to color match me, so I walked to a JCPenneys and the BareMinerals either made me look too pink or too lavendar - go figure - they say it matches all skintones!!! BUT, I was perfectly matched to Stila’s 70 watt and fell head-over-heels for this brand. I now have various eyeshadow palettes, along with a back up foundation, and am always visiting the Stila site for more products. The cost is higher than a drug store, but well worth the price. As the other reviews have said, the eyeshadows last all day and don’t crease, they are highly blendable, the foundation isn’t cakey and I can apply as much as needed and still look natural. The 70 watt matches me so perfectly, that I always have to double check to see if it has even been applied to my face. Imagine that - me with a perfect foundation shade that provides me with the coverage I need. Also, my t-zone tends to be oily but this foundation alleviates some of that. I only have to touch up sith a sheer translucent powder towards the evening, if at all.

I don’t use foundation every day, but I do love this one. A beauty professional matched the 03 Porcelaine to my skin (and I don’t know the difference between 03 and non-03 or non-numbered tones) and it works great, even smoothing some rough spots, and of course covering uneven skin color. I tend to get a little oily mid- to late-day, but when I use this foundation my skin stays nice all day (I tend to use Sothy’s powder with it).

I found this just like the person above did, in Sephora, after trying 50+ different foundations throughout my life. Seriously, I have never ever found one I loved, this is great. It is kind of pricey but I’ve had it for over months now and still have a lot left. (Also I’m pretty liberal with it, one pump does your whole face though) I have extremely fair skin, so its been terrible trying to match it. I use porcelain… it’s great. It doesn’t look shiny or dewy really, it just makes your skin look healthy and not dry. Seriously this stuff is made of awesome.

This foundation is not too heavy but give enough coverage to hide minor imperfections. I love the Sandy Beige which adds a hint of tan to my pale skin without looking like I have make-up on. Really nice foundation for everyday… I just wish they could keep it in stock!
