Customer Review: Pleasant, Summery Scent!
This is light, pleasing bath gel with a not-too-strong, not-too-mild scent. Like all philosophy products, it comes packaged in a beautiful, good-sized bottle and always leaves you feeling refreshed. If I had to compare its scent to something from nature, I would say that it reminds me of a cool summer rain–something we can all enjoy! Its equally sweet name–joyful heart–allows this bath gel to serve as the perfect gift for a family member, newlywed couple, or significant other.

If I had been asked to create a scent that brought the feeling “joy” to life, I wouldn’t have known how to start. But from the first time I opened this bottle, Philosophy’s Joyful Heart Charity 3-in-1 absolutely smells like joy to me. The scent is a very full floral scent, one that felt familiar but that until today, I couldn’t place: this morning, I suddenly realized it smelled like honeysuckle.

It makes me happy just to lather up with this ((smile)) and speaking of lather, it’s thick and rich and very long-lasting (most shower products need me to add product twice to wash just to keep some foam on the puff, and I’m only a thin 5′3″ tall!). The only flaw in this product is that there is no body lotion to add to it so I can smell so deliciously joyful for even longer.

One more thing, my highlighted hair can feel like barn straw after a shampoo, but when I used Joyful Heart today - and no conditioner - my hair was soft and easily combed. Amazing!

Customer Review: So far I like it

I’m in my mid 30’s, of mediterranean/middle eastern heritage, with very dry olive skin, that even with all the sunscreen I use has a tendency to develop brown “patches”.

Im always looking for something that will even out my skin tone and offset its “sallowness” (?)..Oh and I also have to wear oil free foundation because I break out easily.

I did a fair amount of research before purchasing this one, and to be completely honest Ive only been using it about a week, but thought Id at least put down my initial impressions for anyone who might be considering it.

My biggest challenge is always keeping my expectations realistic, i.e. no miracle cure for anything. However, with that in mind and keeping all the other variables constant by not changing any other products at this time, I do see a difference. Like I said..no miracles, but once my foundation is applied over the primer, I do see a difference…its hard to describe but my skin tone looks more even and my eyes arent immediately drawn to areas of discoloration. Overall Im happy with my choice.

If it were me, there are a few things I would want to know ahead of time though:

First, if your skin is even the least bit oily, this isnt the product for you. Its not too bad for me because mine is so dry to begin with.

It is expensive, but the amount needed for one application is so small that this bottle should last a long time.

Wash it off at night. No more laziness for me in that regard.

Customer Review: Not the best for MY skin
I was really hoping this would work for me. I love that it’s in stick form-more portable and less mess. It looks fine for an hour or two, but my lunch break I feel like I need to reapply…I see “creases” in the makeup around my eyes and nose, my nose and chin look shiny and sometimes it just looks like it’s already worn off. I’m sure that it was just not the appropriate choice for my skin type–Dry except for t-zone (the oiliest part of my face, though I’ve never thought it to be truly oily.)
I’d definitely recommend trying this product on your face for a few hours before committing to a purchase.

This is by far the best foundation stick out there. I’ve tried many of them.. from Prescriptives, MAC, Clinique and was dissapointed with each. Bobbi Brown’s has a smooth application (blends super easily), it’s not greasy, stays put all day, there is no sickening perfume smell, the coverage is perfect for my skin, (it’s not too heavy, but covers all the red and discolored marks on my face). I also use this as my under eye concealer on days when I have no time to get out my other products. I have used this product since 2004, when I had my first Bobbi Brown makeover at the local Saks. Give it a try ladies!!

They sent one little makeup brush in a ridiculously large amount of packaging. They packed it like it was cystal or something. Give me a break-aweful for the environment. The brush is soft but no so practical because it is narrow and dense, putting a thick layer of makeup on a small area instead of a natural look putting a light layer on a larger amount of your face.

Customer Review: Good brush for the price
I hadn’t used a foundation brush before and I didn’t want to commit $30+ to something I didn’t even like and that is why I tried this cheaper alternative. This is a very affordable option for anyone considering a foundation brush. I’ve been very happy with it so far. The brush is soft and I haven’t had any problems with bristles falling out. It is a little on the small side but it still does a decent job of blending the foundation into the skin using short strokes. I think it’s a good brush for $6 and would definitely recommend it.
